7.6 Decision making under different conditions

Decision making can be influenced by different conditions and factors, such as:

  1. Uncertainty: Decisions made in uncertain conditions require greater analysis, as well as a willingness to embrace ambiguity and risk.
  2. Time constraints: Decisions made under time pressure may require quick thinking and less analysis, but may also lead to suboptimal outcomes.
  3. Limited information: Decisions made with limited information require more intuition and gut instincts, as well as the ability to make informed guesses.
  4. High stakes: Decisions with high stakes, such as those involving significant financial or personal risks, require extra care and attention to detail.
  5. Group decision making: Decisions made in a group setting can be influenced by group dynamics, such as consensus seeking and groupthink.
  6. Emotions: Emotions can play a role in decision making, both positively and negatively, and can impact an individual’s ability to think rationally and objectively.
