Education Requirements for Enrollment For CPA

To register for CPA a student has to provide evidence of one of the following education qualifications.

  • An aggregate of grade C+ (C plus) or its equivalent in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination
  • A degree from a recognized university.
  • Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) with at least two Principal passes provided that the applicant has credits in Mathematics and English at Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) level or equivalent qualifications.
  • KASNEB diploma, technician or, professional examination certificate.
  • International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination grade C in 6 papers with C in both Mathematics and English.
  • Such other certificates or diplomas as may be approved by KASNEB.
  • Diploma examinations

  • Recent passport-size photos (2)

Timeline for Completing CPA

KASNEB administers CPA at the Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. On average, it takes 6 months to complete one level. Therefore, it can take one and half years to complete all three levels and an additional year for practical/ internship experience.

Cost of Doing CPA in Kenya

The cost of doing a CPA course in Kenya comprises different components including fees for classes, registration, and exam fees.

Registration Fees for CPA

  • Registration fees (inclusive of student ID fee)- Ksh.7500
  • Annual registration renewal fees- Ksh.1,600 (Payable annually by July 1st)
  • Registration reactivation fees -Ksh.4000 (applicable to students whose membership has lapsed)
  • Student identity card replacement fees- Ksh.500

Note: student membership lapses after failed annual renewal for three consecutive years.
