KASNEB Foundation Aid – Student Guideline and Frequently Asked Questions
The HELB/KASNEB Foundation Aid is designed to support eligible students pursuing professional courses at RCM Online College. These guidelines provide clear answers to frequently asked questions on eligibility, funding timelines, examination limits, and access to classes, helping students understand how the sponsorship works and what is required to benefit from the programme.
1. Does applying for HELB / KASNEB Foundation aid give me automatic access to classes?
No. Access to classes and the LMS will only be granted after the loan funds have been officially disbursed to RCM Online College. Applying for the loan alone does not qualify a student for class admission.
2. How many units can I sit per examination sitting under the sponsorship?
Sponsored students are allowed to sit for a maximum of three (3) papers per examination sitting.
3. Does the HELB / KASNEB Foundation sponsorship cover retake fees?
No. The sponsorship does not cover retake fees. Each unit is sponsored only once, and any retake costs must be paid by the student.
4. Is there an age limit for eligibility?
Yes. Only students aged 34 years and below are eligible for consideration under the HELB / KASNEB Foundation Aid Scheme.
5. When does my funding apply after I submit my application? (Instruction No. 5)
Funding applies strictly based on the application date as follows:
- Applications received after 15 January → May–August semester
- Applications received after 15 June → September–December semester
- Applications received up to 15 October → January–April semester
- Late applications are automatically deferred to the next award cycle.
6. Can I seek other sources of funding apart from HELB / KASNEB Foundation aid?
Yes. The KASNEB Foundation recommends that students also seek additional financial support from other sponsors such as County Bursaries, NG-CDF funds, Affirmative Action funds, and other approved sponsorship programmes to supplement the Foundation aid where necessary.
Understanding the HELB/KASNEB Foundation Aid guidelines helps you plan your studies effectively and avoid delays in class access or examinations. By following the outlined requirements and timelines, eligible students can maximize the benefits of the sponsorship while smoothly progressing through their chosen professional courses at RCM Online College.
