Sources of International Finance
- Foreign Debt: MNCs can raise funds through foreign debt instruments, such as bank loans, corporate bonds, and Eurobonds, issued in international markets. These debt instruments provide access to global capital and allow MNCs to diversify their debt portfolio.
- Equity Financing: MNCs can raise equity capital through various channels, including initial public offerings (IPOs), secondary offerings, private placements, and strategic partnerships. Equity financing allows MNCs to attract investors from different countries and enhance their capital base.
- Multilateral Development Banks: Multilateral development banks, such as the World Bank and regional development banks, provide loans and grants to MNCs for development projects in emerging markets. These institutions support sustainable development and promote investment in infrastructure, social sectors, and environmental initiatives.
- Export Credit Agencies: Export credit agencies provide financial support to MNCs by offering export credits, guarantees, and insurance to facilitate international trade. These agencies mitigate risks associated with cross-border transactions and promote trade and investment flows.
