KASNEB Exam Remarking Appeal: A Step-by-Step Guide for Students

Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) just released the results for the August 2025 examinations. Students who feel that the results do reflect their performance have the right to appeal for a remark of their examination scripts. To ensure fairness and transparency, KASNEB has put in place a formal process through which candidates can request a review of their exam papers under clearly defined guidelines. This article outlines the key steps and requirements for lodging a remarking appeal with KASNEB.

Guidelines for KASNEB Exam Remarking Appeal
Students who wish to appeal for the remarking of their KASNEB examinations must strictly follow the official guidelines set by the board. Below are the key requirements:
- Application Timeline: The appeal must be submitted within 14 days from the date the results are released, as indicated on the official exam results notification. Late applications will not be accepted, so act promptly.
- Careful Decision-Making: Students should take time to make an informed decision before appealing, as extraneous circumstances will not be considered during the remarking process.
- Confidentiality: The student’s name should not appear anywhere on the appeal form.
- Mode of Submission: The completed appeal form should either be delivered in person or sent by post. Applications sent through email or other electronic means will not be accepted. Download the appeal form at < https://kasneb.or.ke/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/APPEAL-FOR-REMARKING-fORM-2020.pdf >.

Students must attach a copy of the receipt or bank deposit slip for the remarking fee to their appeal form.
Note
- The outcome of the appeal will be communicated within four weeks through the contact details provided on the form. KASNEB will not engage in any further correspondence on the matter.
- Students must agree to accept the remarking outcome as final.
- If a student’s result changes from FAIL to PASS after remarking, a refund of the remarking fee will be issued, less a 15% administrative charge.
